This page gives some information about the courageous acts that Madeleine White-Steinberg undertook at Vittel Internment Camp, and for which she was given the award 'Righteous among the Nations'...

(There is no textual information on the Yad Vashem website about her deeds.  Because she was a close friend of Sofka Skipwith, it can be assumed that she was closely involved in the activities that are described on her 'page', and especially the attempts to smuggle out a list of Polish Jews with Latino American documents who were very much in danger.)
